The College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized a cultural festival titled “Al-Hussein: Past, Present, and Future” under the supervision of Dr. Saif Al-Saadi, the dean.

The festival was held in coordination with the #Be_Husseini project and sponsored by the Imam Al-Sadiq Foundation in collaboration with the Relations Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. It was attended by Professor Mazen Al-Hasani, the university president, and Mr. Adel Al-Yasiri, the representative of the religious authority. The festival began with a recitation of the Quran, followed by a speech by the university president highlighting the significance of initiatives provided by the holy shrines in supporting students and academic institutions to enhance the educational process. Mr. Adel Al-Yasiri, the representative of the religious authority, delivered a lecture on the status of Imam Hussein in Islam, emphasizing the high status granted to him by his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad, who said, “Hussein is from me and I am from Hussein.” He encouraged students to discard outdated graduation ceremonies and replace them with events that align with Islamic principles, values, and noble ethics. The festival also included an honor ceremony for top-performing students in various scientific departments.
