The seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Unit and the Wasit Health Department. The seminar, titled “The Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer,” targeted female staff and students of the college. Dr. Leqaa Abdul Lateef Al-Kanani, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, delivered the seminar. The informative session covered various topics, focusing on the significance of early detection since breast tumors are the most common among women. It discussed methods of detection and highlighted the available screening centers in Wasit Governorate that women can benefit from. Dr. Leqaa emphasized the importance of regular and systematic screenings for all women. She also addressed factors contributing to the spread of the disease, such as genetic factors and significant exposure to radiation. The session stressed the significance of accurate and proper self-examination methods. The seminar concluded with recommendations, emphasizing that early detection provides a significant hope for recovery.
